FRAME: Topics in Brainspotting Consultation
FOCUS: The 2024 Revision of the Consultant's Report -- Keeping up with the Changes!

There are some significant changes and additions to the topics to be covered and assessed for Certification that may or may not have been explicitly included in *your* CIT training -- because Brainspotting is constantly evolving even when the core Phase 1 and Phase 2 curriculum appears to stay the same.

In this 2 hour class you'll receive a concise review of the new Certification standards for Brainspotting theory & application in practice, including a refresher on:
-
the Neuroexperiential Model (NEM) as a therapist/healer model, contrasted with "evidence-based" and/or "diagnostic" models
-
Brainspotting as a developmental model
-
the Uncertainty Principle of Brainspotting as a paradigm shift

You will also learn:
-
how to shift the flow of the process for "Consultation for Certification" within the minimum six (6) sessions
-
how to transition your current consultees into the new criteria
-
the power of process

**How is this workshop different from the new CIT training videos?
This workshop directed primarily toward already Approved Brainspotting Consultants and will be taught at a more advanced level than is present in the CIT training videos -- current CITs are, however, welcome & encouraged to attend!
You will have opportunity to:
-
ask questions and engage in dialog about the NEM & all the other "new" theoretical & conceptual advances in Brainspotting, framed by a side-by-side comparison of the 2019 & 2024 Consultant's Reports (what's new? what's not?)
-
develop your skills as an Approved Brainspotting Consultant
-
plan for your own specific continuing Brainspotting training, in ways that will best serve you, your clients, and consultees

**Why study with Martha?
I'm answering this one in the "first person" -- because -- whether you've trained with me before or not, I want to write to you from the heart, and I want you to know that you are welcome at this workshop!

I've been a consultee/student of David Grand's since 2001, and learned Brainspotting from him, in a mini-demo, in his Bellmore NY office not long after he noticed the phenomenon is his session with the skater... when he didn't yet even have a name for it! My work contributed to the development of z-axis Brainspotting (you can see me teaching with David in the 2017 edition of the Phase 2 videos) and I've collaborated with David in providing humanitarian Brainspotting in NYC after 9/11, and by invitiation, in Sandy Hook CT after the 2012 school shooting tragedy there.

From this longtime professional relationship, I've learned so much -- about practice, clinical Brainspotting, life, and myself -- and I am eager to share it with you! Being "of a certain age," I am committed to doing all I can to support the next generations of Brainspotting Consultants in developing high levels of expertise in *teaching* as well as practicing Brainspotting -- which is a different skill set.

To teach effectively, we not only need to have embodied "knowledge" of Brainspotting theory and practice applications, we need to be able to communicate that to our consultees/students in ways that they can take in and make their own -- across all cultural, liguistic, ethnic, geographical, and neurophysiological landscapes.

I teach deeply -- with intentional subcortical and neocortical integration -- and I invite you to join me in the next steps of your wondrous Brainspotting journey!

All the best,
Martha
